Friends Remover clears friends from your PlayStation account in bulk, rather than unfriending each person one at a time on the console. How many you can remove per month depends on your membership tier.
Make sure your NPSSO cookie is fresh before using PSNTools. Sign out of PSN and sign back in if needed. NPSSO guide here.
Removals are permanent. Removed friends would need to send and accept a new friend request to be added back.
